White South Sea Pearls

Regarded as the largest of them all, the soft glowing White South Sea pearl is a statement in sophistication.

Slowly growing for two years before a single pearl can be harvested, the Pinctada Maxima oyster produces the lustrous White South Sea pearl. The unusually large sizes these oysters allow for pearls of larger size.

In the vibrant undersea habitats between Australia and Indonesia, these pearls are known to grow to unusually large sizes and express a wide variety of colors and shapes.

Though called White, this variety of pearl exhibits a spectrum of colors, including cream, ivory, white and silver. Additionally red, green and rarely blue overtones may occur giving a secondary color to these pearls.

Although the round shaped pearls are primarily sought after due to their perfection in shape and symmetry, more often than not, the South Sea pearls occur in a wide variety of shapes including tear-drops, buttons, circles and baroques.
