TAHITI, FRENCH POLYNESIA

Discover the dark beauty of Black South Sea pearls, exclusively from our partner pearl farms across the Tahitian islands of French Polynesia.

Derived from the Pinctada Margeritifera oyster, Black South Sea pearls are found throught the vast Tahitian island chains that make up French Polynesia.

This variant of South Sea oyster is also known as the black "lipped" variety, owing to the rim of color found within its shell.

Black South Sea pearls can come with a variety of shades of black, ranging from light grey to deepest black. Additionally, Black South Sea pearls can have secondary tones of green, red and even purplish and bronze tones.

Perhaps it's fitting that Tahiti lies in the deepest reaches of the Pacific Ocean, as it has one of the most mysterious of all pearl colors: Naturally black pearls.

The dark shades of a Black South Sea pearl seem to reflect the vibrant color ranges of its environment, the verdant green of the island palms trees, the bronze of its reddish sunsets, and the black of its darkest nights.

Born in the most remote regions of the Pacific, the Black South Sea pearl is a connection to the outside world, finding its way to into the hands jewelers designers from all of the world.
