What is a South Sea Pearl?

South Sea Pearls are a specific type of cultured pearl grown by the Pinctada maxima and margaritifera species of Saltwater pearl bearing oysters. These oysters are cultivated on pearl farms found through South East Asia and the South Pacific seas. South Sea pearls are highly sought after due to their natural colors of Gold, Black and White, as well as their large size, wide array of shapes and inherent rarity.
